Blackbutt Reserve is located at Carnley Avenue, Kotara and is 8.5kms from the Newcastle CBD.

By bus

A number of buses travel along Lookout Road and Orchardtown Road New Lambton.
Please refer to Newcastle Transport - Trip Planner for timetable information. There are multiple bus stops around the reserve that access either Richley or Carnley Reserves.

By train

Catching a train alight at the Kotara Station, for a 2.8km (35min) walk to the wildlife exhibits at Carnley Reserve. Please refer to the Transport for NSW website for timetable information.
