Access All Areas Film Festival Screening at Wallsend Library

Newcastle City Council will host an Access All Areas film screening at 1pm Tuesday 14 November at Wallsend Library as a lead-up to the International Day of People with Disability, which will be celebrated on 3 December.

The Access All Areas Film Festival (AAAFF) is held annually predominantly in Sydney and Melbourne, and screens films that reflect the lived experience of people with disability.

This year the international program of award-winning short films is coming to Newcastle with support from Newcastle City Council. The screenings include open captions to be inclusive of people with a hearing disability. The program is also flashing light free and the venue is accessible for people with a mobility disability, with accessible toilet facilities provided.

Council is hosting and supporting this screening to showcase the capacity of people with disability and to promote inclusion in cultural activities.

The 2017 AAAFF Program will showcase seven exceptional films from Australia, Iran, Finland, Holland and Italy and includes two animations, two documentaries and three live action films. The films will take their audiences on a glorious journey of suspense and intrigue, romance, hilarious comedy, heart-warming moments and new perspectives.
