Integrated Planning and Reporting

Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) legislation was introduced by the NSW State Government in 2013 and sets requirements for all Councils to lead the development of long term plans for their city, detailing community aspirations and strategic directions.

City of Newcastle has embraced this opportunity to engage with our community to ensure our planning and reporting is informed, relevant and responsive to community needs.

During 2024 and 2025, we've been reviewing our current CSP - Newcastle 2040 and we would like to thank everyone who has shared their thoughts and ideas. We've used your feedback to updated the Plan and ensure that we are heading in the right direction toward a city that we can all be proud of.

The revised Newcastle 2040 was placed on public exhibition from 12 December 2024 to 30 January 2025.

All feedback received will be reviewed and considered to inform any changes to the document Newcastle 2040. Your feedback may also be used to inform other City of Newcastle strategies and plans.

Newcastle 2040 will be reported to Council in March 2025 for adoption.

Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan

The Newcastle 2040 Community Strategic Plan reflects the community's vision for the city and is our guide for action.

Delivering Newcastle 2040

The Delivery Program is the point where Council takes ownership of the community strategic plan and outlines how Council will contribute to achieving its strategic outcome.

Fees and Charges

The Fees and Charges Register outlines fees for all user-pay services, including car parking charges, swimming centre fees, footway restaurant fees, parks and recreational fees and building certificate fees.

The Resourcing Strategy

The Resourcing Strategy shows our consideration of the staff, assets and money required to deliver our four year objectives and annual actions.

Performance Reporting

We report every three months in our quarterly performance report to show how we are working towards achieving our Delivery Program priorities.

Annual Report

The Annual Report provides a yearly summary of Council's performance and statutory reporting.

State of Our City Report

At the end of each Council term we report on the delivery of the community strategic plan in an End of Term Report. View previous reports for years 2012-2017 and 2011-2013.

General Purpose Financial Statements

Each year Council prepares General Purpose Financial Statements which provide details on Council's audited financial poistion and operating results for the financial year.
