Swimming Pools and Centres

City of Newcastle has five inland swimming centres.

Stockton, Lambton, Mayfield, Wallsend and Beresfield swimming centres are operated by BlueFit Aquatics. For further information including opening hours and programs, please visit BlueFit.

Lambton Park War Memorial Swimming Centre

Lambton Park War Memorial Swimming Centre is operational for a 40 week season and offers the following features:

• Heated 9 lane 50m pool with associated covered grandstand
• Heated 6 lane 25m and toddlers pool
• Diving pool and towers (currently closed, see below)
• Spectator grandstands
• Large waterslide
• Aquatic playground and grassed areas
• BBQs and shaded seating
• Heated showers
• Kiosk
• Off-street parking 

Accessible features:

• Accessible parking
• Accessible toilet/change room
• Change table (no hoist)
• Steps with handrail into the pool (not a ladder)

Please note: The dive tower, 3m boards and southeastern 1m board are currently closed for use following advice received from the SafeWork NSW, which identified serious risks to health or safety including slips or trips and falls from heights when climbing up or down the tower. Beresfield Swimming Centre

Beresfield Swimming Centre is operational for a 30 week season and offers the following features:

• Solar Heated 7 lane 50m, learners and toddlers pool
• Spectator grandstand
• Playground equipment and grassed areas
• BBQs and shaded seating
• Heated showers
• Kiosk
• Off-street parking

Accessible features:

• Accessible parking
• Accessible toilet/change room
• Change table (no hoist)
• Steps with handrail into the pool (not a ladder)

Mayfield Swimming Centre

Mayfield Swimming Centre is operational for a 30 week season and offers the following features:

• Heated 7 lane 50m and learners pool
• Spectator grandstand
• Playground equipment and grassed areas
• BBQs and shaded seating
• Heated showers
• Kiosk
• Off-street parking

• Accessible BBQ area
• Change table (no hoist)

Wallsend Memorial Olympic Swimming Centre

Wallsend Memorial Olympic Swimming Centre is operational for a 30 week season and offers the following features:

• Heated 7 lane 50m, learners and toddlers pool
• Spectator grandstand 
• Playground equipment and grassed areas
• BBQs and shaded seating
• Heated showers
• Kiosk
• Off-street parking
