Standing Committees

City of Newcastle's Standing Committees are committees that continue in existence across successive council terms to manage issues that are of ongoing importance to the City of Newcastle

Access Inclusion Advisory Committee

Implementation of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-2026 and current and relevant local matters related to disability inclusion in Newcastle.

Guraki Aboriginal Advisory Committee

The Guraki Advisory Committee provides strategic advice and guidance with relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues, give life to Council’s commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the City of Newcastle.

Newcastle Youth Council Advisory Committee

To guide the implementation of youth strategies for City of Newcastle and to raise awareness of youth issues.

Public Art Standing Committee

The Public Art Standing Committee (PASC) (previously known as Public Art Reference Group - PARG) acts as an advisory body to the City of Newcastle (CN) on Public Art.

City of Newcastle acknowledges that we operate on the grounds of the traditional country of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples.
We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and continuing relationship with the land, and that they are the proud survivors of more than two hundred years of dispossession.
CN reiterates its commitment to address disadvantages and attain justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this community.
