Economic Development Strategy
The Economic Development Strategy presents a transformative approach to economic growth, adopting a deliberate people centred and place led methodology. Informed by the Hunter Regional Plan 2036, the Greater Newcastle Metropolitan Plan and the Gateway Cities Report, the Strategy recognises that the strength of the local and regional economy relies on the talent, skills and ingenuity of the community. These capabilities drive innovation, creativity and, ultimately, the creation of new jobs and investment.
The Strategy aims to cultivate a skilled and innovative community, supported by essential city infrastructure and enriched by a vibrant lifestyle.
