In accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and/or City of Newcastle's (CN) Community Participation Plan the below proposed development applications fall into one or more of the following categories and therefore are notified for community awareness.

PUBLIC NOTICE - Proposed Land Reclassification
City of Newcastle is proposing to reclassify 22 parcels of land from Operational Land to Community Land to be better aligned with the intended use and value to the community. These parcels are currently managed as natural areas but are not classified as such. We are working to secure and protect these land parcels for future generations.
The parcels of land include a diverse range of natural areas such as wetland, creeks and bushland in Black Hill, Elermore Vale, Fletcher, Wallsend, Maryland, North Lambton and New Lambton Heights.
Under the Local Government Act 1993, all land owned by Council must be classified as either Operational or Community Land. Community land cannot be sold, must be categorised and included in a Plan of Management which guides how it will be used and managed.
You can have your say on the proposal by providing a written submission to City of Newcastle between 30 May and 5pm 27 June 2025.

Strategic Planning Notices
Draft Amended Planning Agreement and Explanatory Note - 73 – 79 Railway Lane Wickham
A Planning Agreement was entered into on 23 April 2021 associated with the development approved under DA2018/00773.
A modification application (MA2024/00448) was lodged for alterations and additions to DA2018/00773. MA2024/00448 was previously notified from 19 December 2024 to 28 January 2025 and can be viewed on CN's Application Tracker.
The modification application triggers an administrative amendment to the original Planning Agreement and Explanatory Note to reference the new application number (MA2024/00448). The parties to the agreement are also updated to refer to the new developer. There are no other amendments to the Planning Agreement entered into on 23 April 2021.

Newcastle Development Control Plan 2023
Council at its meeting of 25 February 2025 resolved to amend the Newcastle Local Environmental Plan (NLEP) 2012 to create the Cameron's Hill heritage conservation area and to amend the Newcastle Development Control Plan 2023 (DCP 2023) – Section E2 Heritage conservation areas and Section E8 Renewal corridors (Sub-section 2.0 - Broadmeadow renewal corridor). The DCP 2023 amendment (No. 01) will come into effect on the business day following the date the NLEP 2012 amendment is made.
