Friday 3 March 2017 has been declared a local event day by the Minister for Industrial Relations for the Newcastle Show. The declaration applies to the Newcastle local government area.

The declaration of a local event day means some employees may be entitled to a day off if the day is included in their workplace agreement.

Newcastle City Council services will be operating as normal on Friday 3 March with the following exceptions:

Libraries
Open: City, New Lambton and Wallsend Libraries from 9.30am - 5.00pm
Closed: Adamstown, Beresfield, Local Studies City, Hamilton, Lambton, Mayfield and Stockton

Digital Print Services will be closed

Merewether Baths will be cleaned on Thursday at 6am instead of Friday.
