Calling all budding artists who love being active on their way to school.

The 'I heart my way to school' art competition includes three categories (infants, primary, high school) and is open to all school students in the Newcastle Local Government Area.

We want to see how you are active on the way to school and what makes your trip fun and special. So, get creative for your chance to win one of twelve Eckersley's Arts & Craft gift vouchers

Ride2School Day

We are committed to improving the safety, convenience and comfort of active transport options for students to and from school. This includes supporting initiatives like Bicycle Network's National Ride2School Day.

Ride2School Day is Australia's biggest celebration of active travel and a day full of fun where students, teachers and parents discover the joy of riding and kick-start healthy habits for the future.

In 2025, we provided primary schools with fruit, treats and more to celebrate students riding, walking, scooting or skating to school as part of Australia's biggest celebration of active travel.
