Quarterly budget review statement

Council received the March quarterly budget review statement.

Adoption of related party disclosure

Council voted to adopt the draft Related Party Disclosures Policy in line with Australian accounting standards that have been expanded to include not-for-profit public sector entities.

1 Ordnance Street, Newcastle - consideration to prepare a planning proposal to amend Newcastle Local Environmental plan 2012

Council resolved to prepare a proposal to amend the Newcastle Local Environmental Plan to remove an item that permitted a function centre and kiosk at 1 Ordnance Street, Newcastle.

Endorsement of Exhibition of the draft Newcastle Smart City Strategy

Council resolved the place the draft Newcastle Smart City Strategy 2017-21 on public exhibition for a period of six weeks.

City of Newcastle acknowledges that we operate on the grounds of the traditional country of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples.
We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and continuing relationship with the land, and that they are the proud survivors of more than two hundred years of dispossession.
CN reiterates its commitment to address disadvantages and attain justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this community.
