2025 Ward 3 Countback Election
A countback election will take place to fill one casual vacancy in Ward 3 due to the resignation of Nuatali Nelmes.
This countback election will be administered by the NSW Electoral Commission.

Monday 10 February 2025: Candidate applications open
Thursday 20 February 2025:
- 12 noon: Candidate applications close and roll closes
Monday 24 February 2025: Eligible candidate declared
Tuesday 25 February 2025: Election Day
- 10am: Count starts
- Results published
Information for Voters
Do I need to vote?
There is no requirement for constituents to vote on the day. The preference data from ballot papers from the 14 September 2024 Local Government Election will be used.
Information for Candidates
Do I need to nominate?
An application may only be made by a Ward 3 candidate at the 4 September 2024 Local Government Election who was not elected and who has not been elected at a previous countback election.
A candidate must declare they are still eligible to be elected as a councillor. This requires a candidate to be enrolled in the council area at the close of applications.
To apply to be a candidate for a countback election, the relevant application form must be completed and emailed to candidates@election.nsw.gov.au by 12 noon 20 February 2025.
