Public Art Standing Committee

Purpose

Standing Committees continue in existence across successive council terms to manage issues that are of ongoing importance to CN.

The purpose of the Public Art Standing Committee (the Committee) is to provide advice and guidance on the commissioning and development of new public art works in the public and private domain proposed by City of Newcastle (CN), Business Improvement Associations (BIA) and private land-owners.  Advocate and provide leadership and support on all aspects of public art.  Ensure transparent commissioning processes that result in public art works are reflective of Newcastle’s history, culture, and community interests. Membership

The Committee is facilitated by Planning and Environment Directorate.  Membership of the Committee includes:
