Public Notice - Proposed Lease Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club 

The City of Newcastle is inviting comments on a proposed lease of Lot 261 DP 1268755 (15 Ocean St, Merewether) to an operator trading as Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club for the purpose of providing community services for a term of 20 Years.   

The grant of the lease is subject to Division 2 of Part 2 of Chapter 6 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Draft Planning Agreement - 1/21 Railway Street, Wickham

Public Notice - Public exhibition of Draft Planning Agreement and Explanatory Note for land at 1/21 Railway Street, Wickham also known as 29 Bishopsgate Street, Wickham. 

The Draft Planning Agreement supports Development Application DA2023/00250 due to the developer seeking the community infrastructure incentive bonuses for height of building and floor space ratio identified in Wickham Masterplan Update (July 2022). DA2023/00250 is also on public notice. 

The public exhibition period for the Draft Planning Agreement is 28 May to 25 June 2025.

Newcastle Development Control Plan 2023

Council at its meeting of 25 February 2025 resolved to amend the Newcastle Local Environmental Plan (NLEP) 2012 to create the Cameron's Hill heritage conservation area and to amend the Newcastle Development Control Plan 2023 (DCP 2023) – Section E2 Heritage conservation areas and Section E8 Renewal corridors (Sub-section 2.0 -  Broadmeadow renewal corridor). The DCP 2023 amendment (No. 01) will come into effect on the business day following the date the NLEP 2012 amendment is made.
